SceneOne has an exciting opportunity to join a World-Leader in test and measurement solutions for Synchronization.

Due to continued growth, my client has a requirement for a Systems Test Engineer to join their R&D team in West Lothian.

The Role

The successful candidate will be working as part of their multi-discipline product design team to develop and execute system level tests to qualify their products for launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating test plans from software and hardware product requirements
  • Developing and documenting automated and manual test suites to implement the test plans
  • Executing system test cycles prior to product release
  • Recording test results and working with the design engineers to resolve issues
  • Contributing to test methodologies and environment

The Profile

You will have:

  • Educated at Degree level
  • Develop and execute both manual and automated tests
  • Knowledge of test automation frameworks and programming/ scripting experience with either C#, TCL or Python
  • Defect reporting methods and tools such as Bugzilla or JIRA  

Desirable:

  • Packet based timing and networking, OSI model, packet structures and protocols such IPV4, IPV6, VLAN, etc.
  • Previous design verification test experience with the use of lab-based test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analysers and frequency counters
  • An understanding of digital signals, clocks and telecom signals
  • Wed based API protocols such as REST and HTTP protocol
  • Knowledge of either SDLC, BDD and TDD
