Systems Integration Developer

Circa 6-month contract

Our client, a consultancy who specialise in services to the health and social care sector, are urgently seeking a Systems Integration Developer to join their client’s team, on a part-time or full-time basis, to assist with a large-scale integration project. The candidate needs to have knowledge and experience of integration that includes HL/7, XML, flat file, API and web services. They must also have extensive experience of Mirth or another integration engine.

Duties and responsibilities of Systems Integration Developer role:

  • Implement interface applications to successfully integrate the specified applications
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support client needs
  • Use interface software, hardware tools and PC applications that support system integration
  • Identify potential obstacles and resolve issues which would impact project completion
  • Attend Go Live activities as required
  • Responsible for managing phases of projects to meet project timelines
  • Responsible for managing the relationship and expectations of the customer
  • Takes full ownership for all aspects of interface implementation and development
  • Serves as primary point of contact to the customer during the project
  • Creates and communicates regular status reports as required
  • Accurately enters and submits time by the required departmental deadlines
  • Maintains and updates the Implementation Methodology and other department documentation
  • Provides training in areas of expertise and support for training documents necessary to assist clients

Skills and experience required for Systems Integration Analyst/Developer role:

  • Considerable experience in networks, client server architecture, TCP/IP and HL/7 messaging
  • Experience or understanding of Mirth interface engine including implementation and channel configuration
  • Understanding of web services and XML standards is preferred
  • Understanding of Java/J2EE based deployments
  • Hospital Operations and/or Healthcare IT experience desirable
  • Experience and understanding of HL/7 version 2.5 preferred
  • Financial and Business acumen to manage expenses and assess financial impact on changes in scope
  • Must be willing to travel up to 40%
