SceneOne has an exciting opportunity to join of a multi-national market leader in Financial Services which has been named as a ‘Top Attractor’ of the best talent in the UK market. 

Due to the continued success and growth of the business and a focused investment into technology, they are looking for experienced Java Technical Lead to join their team in Glasgow who are undergoing a major redevelopment replacing a legacy platform.

The Role:  

You will lead an agile team of passionate developers who working collaboratively on this key project.  You will:

  • Provide technical leadership to the team across multiple locations
  • Work on the technical roadmap
  • Define and enforce best practices across the team to ensure quality
  • Actively seek ways to encourage and improve productivity and efficiency within the team
  • Participate in Scrum of Scrums
  • Communicate all stories in the Jira backlog to the team
  • Manage communications with all stakeholders
  • Encourage and shape the adoption of SDLC processes within the team

Role Requirements:

In order to be successful in this role, you will have experience within a Technical Lead capacity within an agile environment.  You will have experience in:

  • Modern database and services platforms
  • Modern web development frameworks such as Angular 2/4 and React
  • Very strong Java development skills
  • Messaging platforms
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes
  • Working with remote teams across various locations and timezones

The following experience would also be desirable:

  • Jira & Confluence 
  • Test Automation Technologies and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)
  • Experience within financial services

The Package:

A competitive basic salary of £50,000 - £70,000 per annum depending on experience, with extensive learning, development and progression opportunities and a generous benefits package.
