SceneOne are engaged with a global solutions provider who are driving the evolution of the software landscape through their use of innovative technologies and its application to Big Data.  As a result of continued success, they are looking to add software engineers to their development teams based in Cambridge.


With a market leading cloud archiving solution, they have been rated as a market leader in Enterprise Information Archiving.  To continue this trend, they require software engineers to join their thriving development teams based in Cambridge. 


The successful candidate will join a development team focused on designing and developing monitoring tools across a range of key business areas.  


Key responsibilities:

  • Design and development of web based applications
  • Development of software in an agile development environment delivering and deploying software upgrades on a 2-weekly cycle
  • Participating in the culture of continual service improvement


Experience required:

  • Skilled in developing and supporting web based applications using Java, JavaScript and third party component libraries
  • Strong understanding of SQL based databases, ideally MySQL
  • Practised in Testing and Quality Assurance methodologies
  • Comfortable working in an Agile based development environment


Any knowledge or skills in any of the following would be well received:

  • Creating and maintaining scripts in PERL and bash
  • Designing, developing and troubleshooting distributed systems
  • Database support and administration
