As part of this global transformation, my client is looking for a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to join their growing team based in Glasgow. 

The Role:  

You will be immersed in all elements of the Software Development Lifecycle, including design, development, integration, operation, support and testing of Cloud infrastructure services, working within a Linux/Unix environment.

You will take on a lead role within the team working in a highly collaborative and agile environment, ensuring that goals are met and that best practices, architectural design standards, data, risk and security management policies are adhered to. 

You will be instrumental in designing, developing and testing code, solving more difficult technical issues, developing integration elements, building data models, APIs, and open 3rd-party SDKs. 

Role Requirements:

In order to be successful in this role, you will be an experienced, hands-on Cloud DevOps Engineer.

You will have demonstrable experience in the following areas:

  • Experience in both Systems Engineering and Software development
  • Experience of working in a Unix/Linux environment, with knowledge of the internals of distributed Operating Systems, systems programming and network programming.
  • Experience of using large-scale software development
  • Proficient in either Java or Python. 
  • Experience of working within a DevOps and automation focused role
  • Experience in building and maintaining cloud based environments using technologies such as AWS and Azure.
  • Knowledge of industry standard development tooling such as Jenkins, AIM, Sonar, Nautilus etc)
  • Agile methodology and the concept of a “T-Shaped Developer”
