SceneOne's client, a multi-national IT consultancy, are urgently seeking a talented individual for a Release Manager opportunity in Croydon, working on a high profile public sector project.

The successful release manager will lead the change advisory board, ensuring adequate risk assessment and scheduling of technical changes and releases.

* Due to the nature of this project, candidates will ideally hold current SC Clearance or as a minimum, have eligibility *

Role responsibilities of the Release Manager:

  • Own the configuration management database (CMDB), access, security, configuration of change activities and release procedures
  • Responsible for the documentation of Environment Management processes and Release Implementation Management Processes in line with ITIL standards
  • Management of all environments through the programme lifecycle to production alongside relevant delivery teams both internal and external
  • Planning & Communication of Implementation Code Deployment between environments
  • Management of deployment tasks working alongside Software engineers to move the code
  • Working closely with stakeholders to identify, challenge and agree the scope and critical purpose of environments
  • Management of relevant risks and issues including identification of escalation points
  • Engagement with all relevant stakeholders ensuring effective involvement in the project life cycle including project reporting

Skills & experience required for the Release Manager role:

  • Significant experience of working on software release projects within a public sector / government organisation
  • ITIL experience
  • Configuration & change management experience
  • Risk assessment experience
