Due to the continued success and growth of the business, they are looking for a Network Engineer to join their team based in Whiteley.


The Role:  

The ideal candidate must be highly motivated and experienced Network Engineer who can provide unparalleled levels of service delivery to a dynamic programme of work. This role will cover the support and administration of a 24/7 business network for our customers.  Working with the network lead to support project design and delivery coupled with the support of existing systems during core business hours.

You will be required to undergo Security Clearance, so all candidates must have the right to work in the UK with at least five years’ traceable work history in the UK.

Role Requirements:

In order to be successful in this role the following skills are essential:

  • Datacentre LAN; considerable experience of Cisco Nexus 7700 and 5600 deployments utilising VRFs, VDC, VPC and OTV.  Cisco 6880 Cisco 3650/3850 Layer 2/3 switching and routing QoS and associated protocols
  • Proven experience in ITIL ICT service delivery
  • Proven experience with the design and management of an enterprise Cisco Network
  • Experience of Palo Alto Firewalls most notably in design, deployment, administration, URL Filtering and Threat. PANOS 6 or 7 experience preferred.
  • Experience of Cisco ASA and ASAv firewalls, bridge groups, deployment and administration
  • WAN - thorough and demonstrable understanding of service provider multitennant cloud networks, ideally to a CCNP/CCIE Service Provider or Datacentre level including, deployment, administration and troubleshooting of L2VPN, L3VPN, MVPN across Cisco ASR9000 series devices.
  • Good knowledge of connectivity and management of Cisco UCS environments
  • Experience of working under pressure to meet deadlines while handling multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, organisational skills and independent and autonomous working
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience of working with shared document repositories (e.g. SharePoint)

The following skills and experience would also be an advantage:

  • Cisco CCNP Service Provider or equivalent experience in a support role
  • Cisco CCNP Data Centre or equivalent experience in a support role
  • MPLS (L3VPN, L2VPN and MVPN) support
  • Nexus 7700, 5000 and FEX modules
  • Cisco Catalyst Family of switching
  • Cisco ASA products
  • Infoblox IPAM management
  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Fortigate Firewalls
  • Cloud Networking
  • BMC Remedy
  • HP Switching
