SceneOne has an exciting opportunity to join of a multi-national market leader in Financial Services which has been named as a ‘Top Attractor’ of the best talent in the UK market. 

Due to the continued success and growth of the business and a focused investment into technology, they are looking for experienced Java Developer Technical Lead to join their team based from their office in Glasgow.

The Role:  

You will join an agile team of passionate developers who work collaboratively to deliver project based solutions for clients in crucial sectors such as defense and intelligence.  You will be expected to:

  • Actively seek out and adopt new ways to encourage efficiencies within the team
  • Lead more junior members of the team at varying levels
  • Work in an agile environment
  • Work collaboratively with your teammates as well as external stakeholders
  • Deliver complex, enterprise level software projects
  • Be committed to quality
  • Be involved in the full SDLC

Role Requirements:

In order to be successful in this role, you will be a skilled Java Developer with over three years of commercial experience within an agile environment.  The following skills are essential:

  • Core Java
  • Knowledge of the full Software Development Lifecycle including design and analysis
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming

The following skills and experience would also be an advantage:

  • Python, SQL, Hadoop
  • MySQL, NoSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL
  • HTML, PHP, JavaScript, AngularJS
  • Spring, Hibernate, Maven
  • Ansible, Puppet, Docker

The Package:

A competitive basic salary of £50,000 - £70,000 per annum depending on experience, with extensive learning, development and progression opportunities and a generous benefits package.
