Infrastructure Security Specialist - from £65K plus benefit - Glasgow or Edinburgh (travel between as necessary)

Our global client seeks to appoint an experienced Infrastructure Security Specialist to work form either their Glasgow or Edinburgh office.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with customers to design, develop and enhance infrastructure security solutions in order to create secure and efficient business systems
  • Provide infrastructure security consultancy services to customers to advise of best practice and use of technology
  • Provide support to operational infrastructure team to enable secure and efficient operation and problem resolution of customer IT infrastructure
  • Create, maintain, and enhance security and systems procedures and documentation to ensure the customer site and systems are fully documented
  • Technically lead delivery of infrastructure security solutions to ensure successful delivery of industry leading security solutions
  • Assist with the creation of infrastructure project proposals for presentation to customers to guarantee best security practice and ensure profitable delivery
  • Technical validation of security configurations for team design output
  • Education/mentoring of Infra team members on security best practises/approaches
  • Providing non-CHECK accredited penetration testing and security assessments
  • Develop and enforce security standards / reference architectures aligned with customer engagements
  • Participate in structured training for team, particularly with more junior and apprentice team members
  • Promote and develop security capabilities of team
  • Authority for security architecture of technical solutions within local team/business
  • Liaise collaboratively with wider audience (i.e. Cyber/Architecture) to share information, standards and learnings

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Significant demonstrable server and related infrastructure security experience
  • Ability to operate in highly complex environments, preferably with managed service experience
  • Project management experience
  • Strong communication and report writing skills
  • Strong business/industry awareness
  • Ability to adapt effectively to changing circumstances
  • Have proficiency in appropriate business language and the ability to present ideas effectively
  • Understand change management and demonstrate knowledge of business analysis
