SceneOne are engaged with a global communications organisation who are embarking on a large-scale implementation of an innovative cloud-based software solution to their customers and partners. 

They are approaching this pivotal project with a DevOps approach and as such are looking to bring a DevOps Team Lead into their Central London office. 

The Role:

The successful candidate will lead an existing cross-functional DevOps team of five, and will mould and grow this team around them as the project progresses, focusing on automation and continued integration and improvement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work in a cross functional DevOps team.
  • Support the development of new products
  • Maintain and build DevOps tools.
  • Work closely with Developers to ensure aligned with DevOps policies to ensure the CICD process.
  • Training junior members of the support team
  • Identify the root cause of the issues observed in the production network.
  • Driving efficiency and continuous improvement through the use of scripting
  • Manage the deployment of new release in the Pre-Production and Production system.  
  • Provide escalated on-call support with high-volume, high-availability (24x7) production systems.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into automation tools and scripts.
  • Comfort with frequent, incremental code, testing and deployment.

Role Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have experience of leading a team within a DevOps environment.  You will also be familiar with basic programming and have strong scripting skills.

You will be proficient with working in a Linux OS environment, and will have knowledge of DevOps tolls such as Chef, Docker, Kvm, AWS, Git, Jenkins and Nexus. 

You will also have previous experience of Java, Perl and Python programming languages. 

The Package:

This opportunity offers a basic salary of up to £80,000 for the right candidate, and also offers various benefits including a 10-15% annual bonus dependent on company performance.
