SceneOne has an exciting opportunity to join of a Global IT Enterprise with an aggressive growth plan for the UK market in 2019.  They service into both the private and public sector on crucial, cutting edge technology projects. 

Due to the continued success and growth of their UK operations and the onboarding of new and exciting clients, they are looking to add a skilled DevOps Engineer to join their Southampton based office.

The Role

The successful candidate will work with an innovative product launching in an area new to cloud services.

Primary focus is deploying, maintaining and supporting state of the art cloud deployed solutions for digital evidence management for Public Safety customers worldwide.  

Assisting product teams to successfully introduce new products/versions. Champion supportability and preventative action on behalf of our customers.


  • Provisioning, deploying, monitoring, patching and upgrading primarily enterprise cloud software.
  • Working closely with the development team to ensure successful deployment of software packages.
  • Defining and implementing regular maintenance and health monitoring procedures.
  • Work effectively with staff in all areas of the business, escalating when appropriate to management and/or R&D.
  • Take into account technical and commercial relationships with end users, partners and service providers.
  • Deploy and provision systems to enable replication of customer issues to diagnose and repair without jeopardising customer data or operations.


In order to be successful in this role, you will be an experienced DevOps Engineer with experience and knowledge in the following areas:


  • Experience of Azure Portal
  • Experience of Azure technologies (e.g. Storage, Web-Apps, Service Bus)
  • Experience of deploying VMs to Azure, scaling etc.
  • Experience of Programming (e.g. C#)
  • Experience administering databases (Microsoft SQL) and basic querying
  • Experience of Postman, Fiddler, Azure Application Insights, Power BI
  • Experience in a Second Level role supporting web based COTS software
  • Knowledge of cloud deployed systems e.g. Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of Windows server and client technology
  • Scripting experience in Linqpad, Powershell or similar
  • Network operations experience (firewalls, network security groups etc)
  • An understanding of .Net frameworks
  • Knowledge of Linux operating System
  • Knowledge of Elastic Search and Kibana
  • Able to use effective questioning to confirm understanding of a customer problem and then provide help to solve it
  • Methodical troubleshooting, technical skill and attention to detail used in diagnosing problems and reproducing issues in a local environment
  • Multi-tasking and time-management to prioritise and switch between varied tasks
  • Able to use initiative and to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding what represents good ‘customer service’ and how to deliver it


  • Relevant technical customer support experience preferred, particularly within a Public Safety environment.
