As a Desktop Support Technician, you will be the first line of support for a busy NHS Trust's users, helping them get back to productivity as quickly as possible. The issues you encounter will relate to communications (email, phone, etc), hardware, network (Wi-Fi and ethernet) or issues with any of the company supported software that employees use to be productive day to day. You will need to be proficient in solving problems in a busy environment.  

This is a challenging role involving the day to day management of IT systems and you will be providing first and second line support to the Trust.


  • Respond to support tickets raised by employees
  • Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications
  • Oversee the daily performance of computer systems
  • Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of hardware, operating systems, and appropriate software
  • Train new employees in IT policies and practices
  • Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications
  • Come up with innovative solutions to interesting problems, and document them clearly
