The Organisation:

SceneOne have been engaged by a dynamic and forward-thinking IT services and consultancy organisation who focus on putting the customer first and always delivering quality solutions which truly fit the business needs they were designed for. 

Due to exceptional growth they are looking for an experienced Data Warehouse Designer to be based from their head office in County Durham.  

The Role: 

You join an existing team of dynamic individuals working in an agile environment to work collaboratively on various client projects.

You day to day activities will include:

  • Design & build data warehouses using SQL Server
  • Implement ETL using SSIS
  • Use SSAS and SSRS for analysing and reporting

You will work end to end to understand clients’ business requirements and translate these into functional specifications. As you will be working closely with clients, flexibility for travel is required.

You will also be expected to nurture and develop your teammates and it is anticipated that you will build into an official Lead role, growing a team around you. 

The Person:

In order to be successful in this role you will need to be a clear and confident communicator with an enthusiasm for creating client-focused solutions.  Experience in the following areas is essential:

  • Expertise in SQL, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS
  • Data modelling and data warehouse design
  • Heavily involved in the design and creation of several data warehouses
  • Excellent customer facing and stakeholder management and engagement skills
  • Comfortable working in a consultancy environment

As well as the above, experience in the following areas would also be desirable:

  • Leading a data warehouse project team
  • Agile development approaches
  • Wider knowledge of data analysis and statistics
  • Distributed data processing (Hadoop, Spark etc.)
  • Cloud storage and processing (Azure, AWS)
  • Wider knowledge of other technologies such as systems integration, other ETL or processing technologies
