SceneOne has an exciting opportunity to join a new Global IT client which has been named by LinkedIn as a ‘Top Attractor’ of the best talent in the UK market.  

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Data Scientist to join my client on a permanent basis in Leeds. They are looking for talented individuals to apply their software development and data science skills for solving problems with data across a number of leading sectors.


You will have the following skills:

  • The ability to link and combine distinctive large data sets (structured and unstructured) from multiple varied sources to discover new insights. This often requires connecting different types of data sets in different forms as well as being able to work with potentially incomplete data sources and cleaning data sets to be able to use them.
  • Development skills in one or more of the following: Python, R, Java, Ruby, Matlab, Pig or SQL
  • Understanding and experience of Hadoop, Hive and/or MapReduce
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques - using existing (linear/logistic regression, decision trees, etc.) and developing new algorithms
  • Understand and perform statistical analysis and work around possible limitations in models
  • Understand and perform predictive modelling on large datasets
  • Perform hypothesis testing - develop hypothesis and experiments to test and validate
  • Be an excellent communicator
