Our client provides cutting edge science and technology solutions into public sector clients and as such they have built strong teams across their various locations in the UK who are working hard to support vital missions and solve the world’s toughest problems. Due to the continued success and growth of the business, they are looking for a Business Systems Analyst for a project based in Whiteley.

The Business Systems Analyst role:

The contract Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for translating business level processes and customer requirements into detailed workflows that enable Systems Engineers to accurately and efficiently configure, test control and monitor systems. You will be required to develop detailed procedural documentation, systems based workflows, user stories and test cases as required by the project.  Furthermore, you will provide status reports as necessary and work as part of the overall project team which will include the customer and external suppliers to deliver the required outputs and resolve issues where they arise. 

Role responsibilities of the Business Systems Analyst:

  • Development of systems based workflows using information identified through workshops, interviews, documentation and requirements analysis
  • Leading or participating in workshops and working groups to identify derived requirements and use cases to support workflow development, analysis and testing
  • Working with Business Process Engineers to ensure alignment between systems based workflows and business level processes 
  • Support the Systems Engineers in technology configuration and test activities to ensure this meets the business requirements as defined in the processes and workflows
  • Identifying any deviations to process or systems and impacts of any changes due to deviations identified
  • Identify opportunities to improve the process and/ or system workflows
  • Identify and reporting any issues and/ or risks to deliverables ensuring these are tracked and mitigated or resolved in a timely manner

Skills & experience required for the Business Systems Analyst role:

  • Experience of process and workflow development on large scale systems implementation programmes
  • Ability to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and break down high-level information in order to develop workflows and support documentation
  • Experience of software solution design and configuration through full project end to end life cycle, ideally network and infrastructure management tools
  • Experience of change management and its application within transformation projects
  • Ability to identify and understand business drivers
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Friendly and approachable with high levels of enthusiasm and self-motivation
  • A team player with experience of working with customers and suppliers 
  • Ability to self-manage and work independently to tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and triage skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment
