Business Analyst (Public Sector) - London - c£50K-£60K plus benefits (SC preferred - SC eligible essential)

The ideal BA will possess the skills to understand the context of the customers business across varied domains and apply it towards requirements definition, analysis and management. As a BA in an Agile organisation, a BA should be able to document user stories and manage requirements for user stories for simple and medium complexity under guidance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support end to end requirement elicitation, write, refine and manage user stories of simple and medium complexity

  • Analyse the business processes, procedures, organization structure, etc. to identify problems and determine solutions across multiple domains

  • Perform functional design and support the testing team for creating/detailing the acceptance criteria for allocated business area and stories

  • Understand scope of work and support to project team in query resolution

ASSOCIATED TASKS:

  • Support end to end requirement elicitation. Create, refine and manage user stories of simple and medium complexity

  • Gain comprehensive understanding of customer business requirements and context

  • Develop good understanding of the financial aspects of the customers business

  • Extract implicit/unstated requirements and identify potential changing customer needs

  • Understand and document non-functional requirements w.r.t performance, scalability, usability, reporting etc

  • Draft user stories or simple to medium complexity independently. Refine the same and track them to Done stage

  • work on external projects under guidance from other senior team members

  • Understand Agile methodology and be a part of service line

  • Analyse the business processes, procedures, organization structure, etc. to identify problems and determine solutions across multiple domains

  • Translate Business requirements to IT requirements and act as a bridge between various stakeholders

  • Validate generic requirements to maintain consistency across the system

  • Develop a domain understanding of the area handled

  • Support the PO for managing the backlog and manage the stories owned

  • Perform functional design and support the testing team for creating the/detailing the acceptance criteria for allocated business area and stories

  • Create user stories for requirements of simple to medium complexity

  • Ensure that design and testing teams have a clear understanding of the user stories and the acceptance criteria there off

  • Validate the design with requirements

  • Collaborate with team members and support team to focus on end results of creating business impact for customers

  • Manage scope of work and support to project team in query resolution

  • Identify, track and manage the scope change of stories within a business area

  • Communication with business users/PO for Query Resolution for Development testing teams in terms of business understanding or data mapping

  • Should be able to give knowledge sharing sessions

  • Understand business knowledge acquisition and related documentation

  • Follow and use Agile techniques like story sizing and effort estimation

  • Ensure protection of company assets and compliance to information security policies

  • Undertake additional responsibilities/tasks as maybe required by the business

  • Have an appreciation of the changing technology landscape and its impact to the customers business

  • work on internal projects and internal initiatives

  • Working with Pre-Sales, Grooming Mentoring, Case Studies, Approach Process Methodology artefacts etc. Alignment to Vision 2020 etc

IREB: CPRE Practitioner

ECBA: IIBA certification
