North London/Hertfordshire area

3-month assignment (with view to extension)

Our NHS client is urgently seeking an experienced Active Directory Performance Engineer with significant Desktop and network performance/analysis skills, Active Directory & 3rd line support experience for a consultancy role at their site in the North London/Hertfordshire area.

Skills/experience required for Active Directory Performance Engineer role:

  • Explore server patching process and implement and document a new sustainable approach and support the systems team with implementing this to bring patching up to date
  • Investigate the reasons why desktop performance is slow
  • Support the systems team to examine the current functional level of the Active Directory and update to the highest level possible within the limits of the estate and licencing
  • Create a test environment (pre-production) that resembles the live environment and document a management approach
  • Build and implement a remote desktop service
  • Support the development of a windows 10 desktop tooling etc.

The Active Directory Performance Engineer will have the following skills & experience:

  • Significant 3rd line support experience with demonstrable experience of investigating, troubleshooting and solving complex issues within large-scale environments and or/issues affecting a large volume of users (1,000 users+)
  • Ability to use a structured approach to problem solving and define a process to manage issues
  • Extensive Active Directory experience
  • Significant Group policy experience
  • Experience of creating a test environment
  • Windows 7 experience - must be able to work out what is going on with a Workstation
  • Windows Server 2003/2008
  • Understanding of scripts that are used in a Microsoft network and understanding on how Microsoft systems use the network
  • Basic networking skills - DHCP, DNS, Routers and Switches
  • Ideally hold a Microsoft qualification
